What is this?

Over the course of a year and half I ran an after-school role-playing class for local 8 to 11 year olds. We played the Quest RPG by The Adventure Guild, LLC.

I developed this small collection of play aids in response to the kid’s needs.

The Creature Companion, a new playable character archetype, grew out my desire to provide a truly stripped down option for my youngest and most distractible players. It provides the option to play a familiar, pet, faithful companion robot, loyal squiddog, or anything else you can dream up! You’ll find that it’s written in the same “MadLib” style that Quest uses for its world and character building tools.

The Session Planning Sheet gives structure and guidance for putting together adventures in an ongoing campaign. It prompts the would-be Gamemaster to look at past memorable events and imagine how they might play out in the future of the game. It also encourages both the creation of obstacles for the characters, and possible ways that they might overcome them.

GM’s can use the NPC Tracking Sheet to keep tabs on their Bosses, Minions, and Commoners.

All of these bits were play-tested and survived use in actual play. I think you’ll find them as handy in play as I did.
